THE
WHIPPET UP
WAY
"Whippet Up works with people in a way that involves them in the planning and delivery of the activities they take part in. We organise and run creative activities, workshops, events and training."
Creative activities, workshops and events are open to anyone who wants a wellbeing boost. They are targeted towards specific people who will benefit from improved wellbeing and towards people who are isolated.

Whippet Up creative workshops are linked into other arts and heritage events that are designed and delivered by the people we support. Whippet Up creative workshops help improve wellbeing, linking the work to other events helps tackle social isolation.
"Whippet Up provides the opportunity and framework for wider involvement and active engagement in community festivals and events. Our creative activities, workshops and training help people take part in other activities, festivals and events."

Ways to Wellbeing
The five steps to wellbeing helps us measure what we do...

Talk & listen, be there and feel connected.

Do what you can, enjoy what you do, move your mood.

Remember the simple things that give you joy.

Embrace new experiences, see opportunities & surprise yourself.

Your time, your word & your presence.
"Evidence suggests there are 5 steps we can all take to improve our mental wellbeing. If you give them a try, you may feel happier, more positive and able to get the most from life"
WHIPPET UP
OUR ASSET BASED
APPROACH
What does this mean? It's as easy as ABCD...

Assets
These are the people we work with, their skills and interests as well as the buildings, groups and any resources we can scrounge, buy or find!

Based On
The work is based on the skills and interests of the people working with us.

Creative
We use art and creativity as a way of helping people improve their wellbeing.

Development
We help people develop and support them to develop project with us
"Our asset based approach means we never know where the work will take us next. In the past year this has seen Whippet Up get creative with science, help people find their inner Viking and then go to the moon. Where next depends on the skills, interests and opportunities."
OUR GOALS

Improve Well Being
Our Goal
Using art and creativity as a way of helping people improve their wellbeing.
How do we do this?
We run weekly wellbeing and creativity groups find out more here. These open sessions are run in community spaces. They include ‘taster’ arts activities to help people learn new skills. Every weekly session leads to other arts or heritage activities.

Tackling Isolation
Our Goal
Encouraging people to take an active role in creative community events.
How do we do this?
Every Wellbeing group that Whippet Up runs is linked to our Arts and Heritage programme . We support people to get involved in designing, planning, making and perfoming at these events. These co-produced and co-delivered events support people into active particopation, for some people this might be behind the scenes for some it could be as a performer.

Finding the people we support
Our Goal
Finding the people we support.
How do we do this?
Whippet Up has a referral network that includes NHS, Social Care and voluntary sector groups. They help to identify the people we work with. We also welcome self referrals and the people we support are great at reaching out and finding new people.

Inclusive & open groups
Our Goal
Create inclusive & open groups.
How do we do this?
We make the Whippet Up wellbeing groups as inclusive as we can. We make people welcome!
